Interference of mesoscale folds: the first-phase structures
deform the contact between the Rhetic Chloritoid Schists and Breccia of Seravezza.
PhotoID453
The contact is characterized by isoclinal folds anticlines and synclines that shows a M geometry.
The first deformation event (D1) is related to the phase of underthrusting of the tectonics units.
The second deformation event refolds the previous structures (D2) and gives rise to open folds with sub-horizontal axial plane foliation.
D2 deformation event is related to the exhumation of the the Alpi Apuane metamorphic complex.
