The ca. 3.5 Ga Steynsdorp gneisses crop out in the core of the Steynsdorp antiform in the South of the Barberton Greenstone Belt. The contact between the belt and the gneisses is, in this place, a clearly tectonic contact with gneisses-up, greenstone-down sense of shear.
